Our company sympathizes with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by United Nations. In 2021, we registered ourselves as “Fukui SDGs Partner” program in our city.
We have launched “Biomass 174 Lens Series”, an environmentally friendly eyeglass lens that uses plant-derived raw materials which reduces greenhouse compared to the conventional lens materials. We keep contributing to the sustainable society through our products.

Our Activities
Environmentally friendly eyeglass lenses made from plant-derived raw materials.
The world’s first plastic ophthalmic lens made from plant-derived materials was launched in 2015.
In addition, the optical performance remains the same as conventional products, and we have created a lens that is thin, lightweight, and environmentally friendly.
Reusing industrial waste generated from lens manufacturing process.
For the past year, we have been discussing the reuse of industrial waste generated during lens manufacturing (waste lenses, polishing scraps) with trading companies.
We are also considering further expansion of reuse applications, and will strive to reduce CO2 emissions as a manufacturer of petroleum raw materials.
